Guide

Use the Double Click Test to spot unwanted paired clicks

The Double Click Test helps you check whether your mouse is producing fast paired clicks when you only mean to click once. This can happen when a mouse switch is worn, dirty, or bouncing. During the test, every click is counted and very fast pairs are tracked separately as double-click detections.

Use a normal clicking rhythm instead of trying to force double clicks. If the double count rises while you are clicking normally, that can be a sign your mouse needs cleaning, settings adjustment, or replacement. The timer modes and custom duration make it easy to run both quick checks and longer tests.

This page is not a repair tool, but it gives a useful signal. Compare results across browsers or another computer if you are unsure. If only one mouse shows frequent accidental double clicks, the issue is likely the mouse rather than the website.

FAQ

Double Click Test FAQ

What does a double-click detection mean?

It means two clicks happened very close together, inside the tool's fast-pair detection window.

Why does my mouse double click by itself?

Common causes include worn switches, dust, debounce issues, driver settings, or hardware faults.

Should I click fast during this test?

For troubleshooting, click normally. Forced fast clicking can create double detections even on a healthy mouse.
